Now at the Uncertain Hour is a theatrical event for live performance, online streaming, and broadcast radio. The show takes the audience on a journey through the landscape of a soldier’s memory as a collector attempts to make sense of what will be left behind. The show asks: in the midst of the relentless currents of time, what can we take hold of that will go on, that will not be lost? The stories blend with the sounds of old time banjo and modular synthesizer to create a unique listening experience.

The show premiered at Edwards Opera House, was simulcast live on NCPR throughout northern New York, Vermont, and southern Ontario, and streamed online at NCPR.org on Friday, May 9, 2014. The premiere performance reached a combined live onsite/offsite audience of 46,053.

The recording of the performance has been subsequently broadcast on Spokane Public Radio (October 2019) and Montana Public Radio (June 2022). The script and recording have since been included in theatre and American literature syllabi at universities in the U.S. and Norway.
